The Many Faces of Robert Read

Born in 1949 in Toronto, Robert George Read spent most of his first 8 years in Detroit, Michigan, returning to Toronto in 1958.

Growing up in the wilds of east Scarborough at Bellamy Rd. and Lawrence Ave., which was the end of civilization in Toronto at that time!

Attending Cedarbrae C.I. in the Commercial Art Course and member of the Photography Club laid the foundation for a lifetime of artistic endeavours.
A 45 year career as an art director/graphic designer has developed a keen eye for composition and ambient mood.

After a long sabbatical from fine art, Robert has picked up the brushes once again and invites you to see the result. Come back from time to time and see what’s new. The gallery is growing!
Now, living in Oshawa, Robert is producing photography and painting with a passion for capturing a feeling for place and time.
